How is Meyer Wolfhseim’s Cufflinks a symbol in the Great Gatsby?

In the novel The Great Gatssy, what are Meyer Wolfsheim's cufflinks made of human molars a symbol of?

I was thinking the cufflinks show hes sophisticated but it also shows that he is barbaric becuase they are made of human molars. or do they have a historical reference?

They are a visual reference that he is not part of the society and class structure of the Buchanans. You can dress the man up but he still has a brutal life and will never be accepted.
